My vinyasa flow class includes meditation to calm the mind, chanting to connect the energies of our group (optional), a few warm up stretches to get the body prepared and then we move through a vinyasa sequence to get the body warm, move on to some standing postures, a balance, seated postures and an inversion before coming down to relax and to allow our body to absorb the yoga practice.
The class can by strong in places but is suitable for all levels and abilities, and I encourage people to take rests at any time they need it.
I was trained by Uma Dinsmore-Tuli who designed the modules for both pregnancy and post natal yoga for the British Wheel of Yoga and who is one of the founders of the Sitaram partnership.
I was trained in post natal yoga and I’m also fully qualified in pregnancy yoga and have teacher training qualification in Ashtanga yoga and Kundalini Yoga Level 1.
I am a full time professional yoga teacher with thirty years of practice and over 12 years of teaching experience, teaching pregnancy, post natal and conscious yoga either on a one to one basis or at class level. I am also a very qualified Mum of two.
My name is Sandy, I have practised Yoga for approximately 35 years, through two pregnancies and all of life’s ups and downs. In 2016, whilst on a yoga retreat in north India, I realised that I really wanted to share my appreciation of yoga with others, and made the decision to embark on Yoga Teacher Training.
I undertook a 500 hour, two year course, with the Devon School of Yoga, run by Duncan Hulin. I completed my teacher training in June 2018, and have now begun another two year training as a yoga therapist which will enable me to focus closer on a whole range of related symptoms, and offer a one to one therapeutic solution.
My classes will be suitable for all abilities and will bring the therapeutic benefits of yoga to a group situation, encouraging stretching, breath work and relaxation
I am a 200 hours qualified Yoga Teacher, registered with the Yoga Alliance International. I am currently about to complete my 500 hours Senior Yoga Teacher training and undertake many courses and workshops to maintain my CPD.
I teach a Vinyasa Flow style yoga and classes have a strong focus on alignment and making yoga accessible to everyone in a fun and light hearted environment.
I started my journey into fitness when I was a young dancer, My dance instructor offered me a job to become a fitness instructor and I taught old school aerobics for her. Since then I have completed many different fitness courses.
I have been in the fitness industry for 30 years and have seen many different trends come and go. My main passion is Pilate’s and yoga style classes, I teach Fitness Pilates, mainly working on general fitness, core strength, flexibility. A general all over conditioning class for all levels and abilities.
I fell in love with yoga at my very first class in 2015. Feeling happier and healthier than ever, I recognised the physical, mental and emotional benefits of a regular yoga practice.
I found yoga released both mental and physical stress so in 2018 decided to complete yoga teacher training to enable me to share the benefits of yoga with others.
I enjoy teaching both power Yoga and deeply restorative practices. I strive to give students a balance of challenge and relaxation for both the mind and the body. I am passionate about the use of yoga to support an individual’s mental health and aim to guide students to find a little bit of stillness in their lives.
My Restorative yoga classes offer the opportunity to release physical & mental stress in the comfort of supported yoga postures. A wide range of props as well as breath & relaxation guidance are used to contribute to a deep state of rest.
Having weight trained very hard in my 20’s, playing rugby and participating in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, I began suffering back pain which went on for many years. I brought myself through the other side with Pilates which had such a profound difference on my problem that I became a Pilates Instructor and my business is called Pilates Guy.
I look to help people with improving sports performance, easing back pain with exercise and lifestyle advice or just to keep well and reduce the likelihood of injuries.
